The Presidential Youth Fitness Program is the nation’s leading Youth Fitness Program, backed by the powerful partnership of the National Fitness Foundation and Amateur Athletic Union. This is a new version we’re launching, amid all the school closures due to COVID-19, that parents can do at home with their families. The goal is to give families an opportunity to keep healthy in a time when it is difficult to do so.

In this video, a certified PYFP Trainer will walk you through how they would implement a pacer test in the classroom. For the purpose of PYFP at Home, you can adapt this test as necessary, depending on your situation. The point is to get kids running, and active. However, if your space allows for it, the official distance between sides is 20 M (65 feet). As you will notice in the section below, there are no standards for this portion of the PYFP at Home.

The goal of PYFP @ Home is to provide a program that is safe for people to conduct and feasible for people to execute from home. This section, which includes Standards, are slightly modified from the traditional PYFP. This program had to be modified to be done effectively at home. These standards are meant to provide goals for people to attain, but we understand that there are many variables that affect people's ability to achieve these standards. We simply wanted to create something that encouraged people to keep healthy during these challenging times. Lastly, we want to emphasize that everyone should follow local, state and federal guidelines as it relates to COVID-19. None of these activities should be performed if they require the user to break any COVID-19 rules or guidelines. Use your best efforts and judgement to stay safe while performing PYFP @ Home.
